COFFEE'S ON ~>`C(__)``(__)D``<slurpin' sound>

It all started when SusieQ from Canucksville wanted to know what was UP DOWN South and Melba wanted to know what was UP UP North. Hehehehe!

They both decided to travel to Quitsville to have a look-see ~ unfortunately Susie was a wee-bitty late arriving ~ 3 years late ~ because she stopped for a bacon sandwich. Hey, it was a BIG SANDWICH.

Anyhooooo...that's neither here nor there...


Slowly trying to emerge from a sugar induced coma (blame Tim Horton Donuts), I started to accummulate smokefree days....while my idol continued to stack up on months!


My dream was to meet Ms. Thibbs.


One night having nothing better to do at 2am, I decided to read the Thibb Journal (I needed a special library card). Melba was everything I imagined. Her smokefree journey was so inspiring. The only drawback ~ I discovered her fashion sense was lacking. Whoever heard of rainbow socks with spurs? Geeeeeeezzzzeee. Is she one of those American Hillbilly types?....Hahahahaha....


SUDDENLY.....<suspense filled moment>......

That day finally came. My dream came true! After witnessing Nina beat the crapola outta the Nicodemon. I was dragged by the lower lip into the 50s Club!


Behold ~ there before me stood the one and only MELBA. Perspiration poured down my face...drip, drip, drip...and my heart took off to the races....Could this be a dream I thought. NOPE! Nina pinched me arse...so I know it was real!


From that day on, I followed Ms. Thibbs around the Q as her Groan Apprentise. I've been taught by the best Groan-teller this side of the 2D world!

Do you remember the comfort and joy of an imaginary playmate when you were a child?


Well like an imaginary playmate, we can’t see Melba…at least not yet ~ but she’s there…her playful words, your supportive nature and her ever-so -loved Baaawwhahahahahahaha.


That is Melba ~ our Queen of Groaners and medicine woman. Hehehe


Almost all of us have experienced the urge to smoke and those lucky enough to know this dear Lady have also experienced being pulled back from danger by her strong invisible force.


Melba’s greatest gift is a calming disposition which puts people at ease.


She frequently reminds me through example that Real Life isn't a one-woman melodrama, although I have a tendency to keep rewriting the script.


Melba cannot be conjured up on demand because she’s not a genie in a magic lamp. However, when she does flick on the computer switch she’s always willing to guide, help, and inspire us.


That’s our Melba!
