I am sitting here in my office and out the side window of my building, I can see
my son's apartment building burning to the ground. I went to the shelter the VFW has set up for them and I found my son and
his girlfriend. They are both ok but Chris was in her pj's. Jim managed to get dressed but there apartment is gone. There
is nothing left. I am not going to smoke but I do want to cry for them. I don't want to be here at work, I want to be there
for my son. I just wanted to let you, my friends, know.

I'm waiting to get into Club sections, I thought I'd write a story! Egads you say? Ya, what's an editor to do when she can't
get to the stories? Lololol
For those who remember the radio show...."The Shadow Knows"
True story but
names haven't been changed to protect the innocent because we want to single out the guilty! Lolololol
~~ A Cry
in the Night~~
Late night serenity, late night tranquility and late night profanity!
Is this phrase an oxymoron
of sorts? Most would say yes, but my daughter, Jen begs to differ.
Let me set the stage. Last night, our family slept
in peaceful slumber. Behold, Paul was dreaming about his retirement, Susan was resting undisturbed… (playing on the
computer), John (my son) was mumbling in his sleep, and the cat and dog were in their own worlds of lala. All were asleep
except for one – Jen.
A twinge of fullness beckoned Jennifer, “Get up and release me.” Her full
bladder would not let her sink into a well-deserved sleep until she expelled its load. Jenny had to pee. Quietly she climbed
up the stairs towards the bathroom making sure that she did not disturb the others. Mikey and Penny (the pets) lay motionless
as she succeeded in reaching her destination. All was fine. Thoughtfully, Jen decided not to turn on the light in case it
should cause a sudden spark of wakefulness. So, with outstretched hands, she felt her way through the dark. Alas, she had
reached to toilet.
This was not the first time Jen had visited the bathroom in the middle of the night. She knew what
she had to do and fantasized about returning to her soft, warm bed. Unfortunately, this night would be different. The unexpected
happened and would leave a lasting impression.
Jen lowered herself down onto the toilet but she did not stop at the
anticipated rim. Her butt dropped like a ton of bricks and loudly crashed into the freezing cold bowl of toilet water. Her
shriek of horror filled the house.

The animals jumped to attention, Paul’s eyes shot open and Susan jolted awake and hurdled
over a chair in panic. “Jen what’s wrong? Are you okay?” Seconds later it was obvious. Someone had left
the toilet seat up and Jen had fallen victim.
Someone deserves a kick in the arse! Hehehe

Jen’s voice
penetrated the silence. “I’m going to kill you JOHN!” As it turned out, everyone heard her song of discontent
