QPOSTPLEDGE for today . . .
From Peter_is_in on 10/3/2007 8:49:35 AM
Hope you're planning on a super day! Middle of the work week so it will
be downhill from here to the weekend :-)
Please join me in the QPOSTPLEDGE:
° I will access the forum only
with positive expectations.
° If I'm down I will look for messages that will lift my spirits, not justify them.
°
If I come in strong I will look for someone weak and give them strength.
° If I have nothing good to offer, I will
look for those that do and support them.
° If I have something good to offer, I will give it as soon as I can.
°
If I give something I will not expect anything in return, or else it is not gift.
° If I see a hurtful post I will
quickly try to post a happy thought on top if it.
° If I see a trap post that only induces disruption or pain I will
not feed it.
° If I see a lonely post, I will respond. We all have something to share.
° If I see a newbie I
will try to say hello. A simple hi is better than nothing.
° If I forget any one of these I will welcome a reminder.
.
. . and I will not smoke!

Someone who's voice . . .
From Peter_is_in on 9/18/2007 12:43:57 AM
When
in doubt about your quit . . . think about this . . .
Somewhere
. . . there is . . .
• Someone who just heard their doctor tell them they have cancer
• Someone
who is thinking about the days they have remaining
• Someone who is fearfully preparing for their first chemo
treatment
• Someone who is trying to find the words to tell their child about cancer
• Someone who
is now crying with the realization of their new illness
• Someone who is getting fitted with an oxygen tank to
help them breath
• Someone who's voice has been silenced by cancer
• Someone who will not make retirement
age
• Someone, who's shoes you would not want to be in . .
And then there is . . . someone who decided
to quit smoking . . . to live life smoke free . . . addiction free. Let that someone be you . . .

. . . A good reason . . .
A good reason for everyone in your life . . .
A good reason for yourself . . .
You
came here to end a wrong choice . . .
You came here to take your life back . . .
You came here to live life

just one
more minute . . . one more hour . . .
From Peter_is_in on 10/3/2007 12:00:31 AM
Can you make it today? . . . just another day to be smoke free? If you're
having problems keeping your quit or struggling with it then maybe just take it one day at a time. And even one hour at a
time. Let's even go with one minute at a time . . .
There are some who make the battle to quit way too large in their
mind. They look at others who are quit for a long time and can't imagine getting that far themselves. The problem with making
the picture of quitting too big is that it becomes overwhelming for some.
Quitting is about not having a smoke now
and not having one when you get the next craving. Take it one step at a time and before you know it you will be making huge
leaps.
The thoughts of how long you are quit should only be reserved for retrospect and not for planning ahead. It
is great to say that you have been quit for one week, one month, one year. But when you start your quit, to say you have quit
for one hour, one day . . . are victories to cherish in themselves. So be glad in what you have accomplished. After all, one
less smoke, is a celebration by itself.
So, one more minute . . . one more hour . . . one more day . . . okay?
